Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Control team members
- Serve as site-level quality authority for product release and in-process decisions
- Oversee QC testing for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods
- Review and approve Certificates of Analysis (COA)
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA regulations (21 CFR 111 & 117), and SOPs
- Lead non-conformance investigations, CAPAs, and OOS investigations
- Partner with QA and Operations to resolve production and quality issues
- Support internal and external audits (FDA, NSF, SQF, customer audits)
- Monitor QC metrics (defects, OOS rate, turnaround time) and report to leadership
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Oversee environmental monitoring, calibration, and QC equipment maintenance
- Maintain and update QC SOPs and specifications
- Participate in mock recalls and material review processes
Qualifications (Needed)
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of Quality Control experience in regulated manufacturing (dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical)
- Strong expertise in cGMP and FDA regulations (21 CFR 111 & 117)
- Proven leadership experience managing QC teams in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with CAPA, OOS investigations, and deviation management
- Proven ability to make critical quality decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
