About the role
Gray Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Food and Beverage Market to join their team in Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, or Lexington, KY.
Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end solutions across construction, professional services, specialty equipment, and real estate.
- Manage all disciplines for design/build projects, including managing all project activities on projects exceeding $10 million in construction costs, or one project exceeding $50 million.
- Represent Gray as the primary point of contact in initial project discussions with customers, and be knowledgeable of costs and fees associated with engineering and design disciplines.
- Manage process or production equipment procurement or installation, with experience in projects exceeding $2 million in costs.
- Develop and manage aggressive schedules, prepare cost estimates, and develop proposals.
- Mentor and train junior project managers, and ensure goals for safety, quality, scheduling, training, and profitability are met.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, monitor purchasing, and issue change orders.
- Communicate effectively with all parties, including subcontractors, suppliers, and customers, and actively support the Project Managers Association (PMA).
- Support the safety program and Quality Management System (QMS), and ensure timely completion of status reports, closeout documents, and maintenance manuals.
- Supervise project staff and manage subcontractors, and ensure adherence to the company's safety program and vision and mission statements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, with a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training.
- A minimum of seven continuous years total profit and loss accountability on multiple projects.
- A minimum of five years' experience managing all disciplines for design/build projects.
- Experience in all contracting methods such as lump sum, GMP, cost plus construction management, and fee-based construction.
- Knowledge of legal aspects and implications of contractual language.
- A proven record in increasing project profitability from initial project profit margins on multiple projects.
- Thorough knowledge of technical aspects of engineering and design disciplines, and costs and fees associated with the variety of engineering and design disciplines and services Gray offers.
- Understanding of the impact of changes in design, engineering, or construction phases, and the ability to address these issues with customers.
- Experience in managing the development of proposals, from receipt of Request for Proposal through final sale.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
- Leadership qualities, awareness of staff working relationships, and a passion for collaboration and professional development.
