Sr Commercial Contracts Specialist

About the role
As a Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist, you are responsible for reviewing, revising, and maintaining contractual agreements used in sales and services, as well as drafting and negotiating commercial contract terms related to orders, pricing, invoicing, renewals, and payment. You will also develop and implement contracting process improvements and serve as a mentor for other team members.
Schedule
This position follows a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location, though remote work within the United States will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage the contract lifecycle process from drafting to execution, including reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial contracts.
- Draft, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners, ensuring business cases are accurately reflected in contract terms and conditions.
- Analyze and respond to redlined documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and objectives while protecting company interests.
- Identify opportunities and develop solutions to improve contract throughput and implement best practices.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff or other departments on contract management best practices and procedures.
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of a robust Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system to streamline processes, track contract milestones/renewal dates, and ensure compliance with deadlines and obligations.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including sales, finance, legal, and operations teams, to ensure contracts meet the needs of all parties involved.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans related to contracting and procurement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, or a related field is required.
- 5+ years of experience in contract administration and management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation principles, and contract drafting.
- Experience using customer relationship management tools such as Salesforce or Dynamics 365 and contract lifecycle management systems preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with acute awareness of the sales process and its impact on top-line billings.
Pay
The current full-time, annualized base pay hiring range for this role is $78,700.00–$112,530.00. Individual compensation will be determined by relevant experience, qualifications, current business needs, and local market factors.
