About the role
The Senior Exercise Physiologist in the Stress Testing Department is responsible for evaluating patient needs, implementing exercise modalities, and performing exercise tolerance tests under the guidance of a physician. This role also involves supervising the testing process, data entry, and assisting in various departments including Cardiac Rehab.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patient needs and implements exercise modalities based on individual needs.
- Affirm clearance for exercise tests and completes informed consent with patients.
- Monitors ECG, measures blood pressure, and determines test termination criteria.
- Assists in developing and updating policy and procedure manuals.
- Participates in community health fairs and assists in evaluating patient care services.
Qualifications
- Required: American College of Sport Medicine Certification as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, CPR/BCLS and ACLS Certification, Master’s Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology or health-related field.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in cardiovascular/pulmonary rehabilitation and exercise tolerance testing.
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of exercise physiology, counseling techniques, and use of educational programs and technologies.
