Sr. Civil Engineer
About the role
Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer to provide private owners and municipal clients with cost-effective, user-friendly, and attractive developments while developing new client relationships. Posting locations: Champaign or Effingham, IL.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and manage a variety of owner-driven civil engineering projects
- Organize and complete projects from inception to completion
- Support internal and external clients on Land Development related projects
- Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and client consultants
- Balance internal and external project schedules and staffing
- Prepare project proposals
- Assist with business development efforts
- Assist the professional growth and development of Junior staff
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 15+ years of civil engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required; Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) a plus
- Strong team player that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously
- Strong background in site design for both greenfield and redevelopment projects
- Strong background and working knowledge of IDOT Standard Specifications and requirements
- Extensive experience with municipal/development related transportation projects
Nice to Haves
- Sanitary sewer, water line, and storm water management design experience
- Ability to effectively manage clients and participate in business development activities
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience
- Contract and negotiating skills

Pay
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity).
