Sr. Civil Engineer
About the role
The Sr. Civil Engineer will provide cost-effective, user-friendly, and attractive developments to private owners and municipal clients, while also developing new client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and manage a variety of owner-driven civil engineering projects
- Organize and complete projects from inception to completion
- Support internal and external clients on Land Development related projects
- Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and client consultants
- Balance internal and external project schedules and staffing
- Prepare project proposals
- Aid in business development efforts
- Aid in the professional growth and development of Junior staff
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 15+ years of civil engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required, Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) a plus
- Strong team player that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously
- Strong background in site design for both greenfield and redevelopment projects
- Strong background and working knowledge of IDOT Standard Specifications and requirements
- Extensive experience with municipal/development related transportation projects
Nice to Haves
- Sanitary sewer, water line and storm water management design experience a plus
- Ability to effectively manage clients and participate in business development activities
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience
- Contract and negotiating skills
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering, 15+ years of civil engineering experience, Professional Engineer (PE) License required, Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) a plus, Strong team player, strong background in site design, extensive experience with municipal/development related transportation projects, AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience, Contract and negotiating skills.

Pay
$105,000 - $150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
