Sr. Civil Engineer

About the role

DEPCOM Power, a prominent Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm in the renewable energy industry, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its dynamic team. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with detailed civil design and construction expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale project civil and site preparation designs
• Maintain oversight of the construction phase, including contractor adherence to civil design plans, managing field adjustments, responding to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs), Corrective Actions Requests (CORS), and conducting onsite quality assurance for grading and site preparation
• Apply critical thinking and engineering knowledge to meet EPC contract requirements while delivering cost-effective solutions that benefit both DEPCOM and the customer
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (Project, Structural, Electrical) to ensure comprehensive project delivery
• Self-perform and utilize third-party partners to complete grading and erosion control plans, construction specifications, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), hydrology reports, and other required documents
• Conduct project due diligence through site visits to evaluate grading and site preparation strategies, assess existing drainage conditions, and identify schedule and cost constraints
• Review grading and drainage plans, drainage studies, ALTA/topographic surveys, and geotechnical reports to recommend project site preparation designs and address potential issues
• Organize and lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss civil engineering and site preparation matters
• Address site-specific challenges such as soil stabilization, foundation design, and erosion control on large-scale developments
• Balance cost, schedule, and quality considerations through value engineering and innovative approaches to civil design and construction
• Implement lessons learned and contribute to the development of standardized workflows and process improvements within civil engineering operations

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineering license
• Experience designing and sealing civil designs as the Engineer of Record
• Experience in land development over 50 acres
• Experience in civil design and large-scale civil construction
• Experience with stormwater management in challenging terrains and/or jurisdictions
• Permitting support experience
• Geotechnical engineering experience
• Hydrology experience
• Experience in PV Solar or BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

Pay

$130,000 - $165,000 per year
