Sr Business Analyst - Oakbrook Terrace, IL

About the role

This position supports business operations through detailed analysis, comprehensive report preparation, and operational performance monitoring. It involves conducting complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, and business case development. The role also includes providing broad analytical and operational support to the business unit.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct short-term and long-range business planning
• Conduct complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other financial and operational analysis
• Maintain and analyze the operation's business scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Prepare and analyze comprehensive and detailed reports
• Provide broad analytical and operational support to the business unit
• May develop, implement, evaluate or lead projects or initiatives (e.g., business plan or process improvement initiatives)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering OR 6-9 years of relevant business experience
• Comprehensive understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in the specific functional area supported by this position
• Advanced proficiency in standard software applications and specialized business technologies and applications
• Ability to provide in-depth analysis and apply managerial accounting concepts, customer intelligence gathering, forecasting, staff planning, scheduling, analytical and statistical problem solving, financial, accounting, business and budget analysis
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills for project evaluation including analysis of complex projects with economic, financial, risk and decision analysis
• Ability to analyze organizational data and complex problems, interpret and recommend alternative courses of action, and implement intervention strategies to attain performance targets
• Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of performance analysis (trending, root cause and gap analysis) benchmarking and audit compliance

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-7 years of related business experience OR 6-9 years of relevant business experience
• Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
• Working knowledge of programming scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, or similar) to support data analysis, automation and reporting

Skills

• Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project)
• Specialized business technologies and applications (e.g., workforce management, project management, PassPort, Brio, CIS, EPS, Business Objects, SAP planning, business modeling, forecasting, voice response unit, automatic call distributors, work management, outage management)
• SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across large data sets
• Programming scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, or similar) to support data analysis, automation and reporting

• Annual salary range: $75,000.00/Yr. – $100,000.00/Yr.
