Sr. Azure Cloud SME

Responsibilities

• Manage Azure environments, designing and implementing solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex networking, identity, compute, storage, and security issues.
• Support cloud modernization efforts by migrating applications and adopting new technologies.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using ARM Templates, Bicep, and Terraform.
• Implement and support Azure security and governance best practices.
• Mentor internal staff and agency personnel on Azure technologies and cloud best practices.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to evaluate, integrate, and communicate cloud solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
• Proven experience managing complex multi-tenant and multi-subscription Azure environments.
• Strong networking and connectivity troubleshooting experience, including ExpressRoute and VPN technologies.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM Templates, Bicep, and Terraform.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD automation.
• Experience implementing Azure security and governance best practices.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven mentoring experience supporting knowledge transfer initiatives.

About the Role

This role involves supporting cloud modernization initiatives, ensuring security and compliance, and mentoring technical teams to optimize cloud operations.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Azure services including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Virtual Networks, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Functions, and Azure Resource Manager.
• Experience implementing and supporting Azure Landing Zones.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM Templates, Bicep, and Terraform.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD automation.
• Experience implementing Azure security and governance best practices.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven mentoring experience supporting knowledge transfer initiatives.

Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, CJIS, IRS 1075.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions and Azure Arc.
• Familiarity with AWS or other public cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The role requires a hybrid schedule with the employee reporting onsite one week per month in Jackson, MS.
