About the Role

As an Azure Cloud SME - Technical Lead, you will demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively and productively with customers. You will translate customer requirements into secure, scalable enterprise Azure solutions and provide technical leadership across development and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing Azure architecture and identify gaps related to scalability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Redesign existing deployments in alignment with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected Framework.
  • Design and architect Azure solutions across compute, networking, storage, and databases.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings for enterprise architecture.
  • Design, deploy, and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Networks, including subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), route tables, private endpoints, and service endpoints.
  • Apply Azure networking best practices for secure and scalable enterprise environments.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, manage release processes, and integrate application and infrastructure delivery.
  • Author Terraform code from scratch, create and maintain custom Terraform modules, and use Terraform and ARM templates for automated deployments.
  • Implement repeatable, scalable, and governed infrastructure deployment processes.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other enterprise backup technologies.
  • Design recovery solutions aligned with business continuity and availability requirements.
  • Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Sentinel for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and security compliance.
  • Apply Azure governance and monitoring best practices.
  • Support collaborative development and infrastructure management using Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Support VMware migration and integration scenarios in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Manage Windows and Linux workloads in Azure environments.
  • Automate cloud operations using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
  • Implement Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID solutions, including RBAC, Conditional Access, and governance policies.
  • Apply security best practices across Azure environments.
  • Implement FinOps and cost optimization strategies using Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud spending, identify savings opportunities, and eliminate unnecessary cloud waste.
  • Create High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) architecture diagrams using tools such as Lucid, Microsoft Visio, and Draw.io.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and SOPs.
  • Adhere to corporate policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, audit procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define architecture, technical standards, and cloud adoption strategies.
  • Ensure compliance and governance through Azure Policy, RBAC, and security best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership, documentation, and guidance to teams.
  • Communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders, demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Set and manage clear expectations with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build strong relationships across technology teams and proactively engage in cross-team knowledge sharing.
  • Identify automation and service improvement opportunities and assess feasibility with customers.
  • Support optimization of service improvements within desktop and technology environments.
  • Undertake detailed and complex project tasks alongside Portfolio Delivery, Architecture, and global Business Operations teams.
  • Ensure CAB processes and approved change procedures are followed.
  • Learn new technologies independently using technical documentation and online resources.
  • Participate in major incident bridge calls, lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor across the Technology organization.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting Azure Virtual Networks, subnets, NSGs, route tables, private endpoints, and service endpoints.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline design, release management, and automation.
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and ARM templates.
  • Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
  • Proficiency in Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Sentinel for monitoring and governance.
  • Strong knowledge of Git for source control and integration with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with VMware in hybrid cloud environments and migration scenarios.
  • Proficiency managing Windows and Linux workloads in Azure.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access, and governance policies.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Docker.
  • Experience with FinOps and cost optimization strategies using Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor.
  • Ability to create architecture diagrams and maintain technical documentation using tools like Lucid, Microsoft Visio, and Draw.io.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Adaptive leadership style with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to collaborate across functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience with incident management, RCA activities, and major incident resolution.
