Sr. Application Support Engineer

About the role

OtterBase is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to join our client's team supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related enterprise applications. This role will provide advanced application support across a warehouse and logistics technology environment, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system administration, release management, and application improvements. The engineer will work closely with Tier 1 and Tier 3 support teams, technical leads, and cross-functional partners while providing guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 support for enterprise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Support warehouse functions including Receiving, Picking, Packing, Shipping, and Labor Management.
• Troubleshoot application issues, analyze logs, and perform root cause analysis.
• Utilize SQL for data analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Support SaaS-based transportation, carrier management, and other peripheral applications.
• Support Windows- and Linux Server-based systems.
• Coordinate incident resolution and escalation with Tier 1 and Tier 3 teams.
• Support software installations, releases, CAB meetings, and change management activities.
• Develop solutions to improve application performance and reliability.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with technical leads and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application support, WMS support, or a related technical field.
• Experience supporting enterprise Warehouse Management Systems and warehouse operations.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and application diagnostics.
• Experience interpreting application logs and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience supporting Windows/Linux environments and SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architecture and deployment models.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
