About the Role
The Senior Admissions Representative will interface with prospective students to support their decision to attend school. This role involves communicating the philosophy and features of the school, serving as an advocate for prospective students, and meeting established quantitative minimum activity standards in an accurate, professional, compliant, and ethical manner using school-approved admissions processes.
Responsibilities
- Consistently operate within and evaluate monthly activity against minimum activity standards for the Senior Admissions Representative.
- Develop and manage action plans to meet qualitative performance standards.
- Assist prospective students through the admissions process in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, school policies, and accrediting standards.
- Use telephone, in-person interviews, text messaging, and email to identify student prospects and determine their educational needs, concerns, and interests.
- Develop rapport with prospective students and maintain frequent contact throughout the enrollment cycle.
- Partner with other departments, including Financial Aid and Academics, to ensure high-level service delivery to students interested in degree programs.
- Work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
- Operate in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines for multiple concurrent tasks, and adapt to changes in work environment or schedule.
- Communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email, text, and in-person with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Work both individually and as part of a team in a highly structured and regulated environment.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-year experience in sales and/or customer service.
- Computer skills required; experience with Google products (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication, particularly telephonic, and good written communication skills.
- Persistence combined with a positive attitude and self-motivating work style.
- Mature, positive, and collaborative interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively use applicable school systems, databases, and tools.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Associate degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent), or internal professional development (ALPS, FLDP), or actively enrolled in college courses.
- 3+ years of experience in post-secondary education.
- 1-2 years’ experience working in Admissions in post-secondary education.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Work Environment
- Usually not exposed to weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
