Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting
  • Maintain records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
  • Create reports on financial performance for internal and external use
  • Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities
  • Support and assist junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills
  • Perform reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, journal entries and month-end close
  • Analyze monthly gross profit and reconcile distribution system reporting to financial system reporting
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly; communicate across departments and corporate accounting to resolve outstanding items
  • Review balance sheet accounts prepared by corporate accounting and resolve outstanding items
  • Monitor asset acquisition, transfer, and disposition activities
  • Prepare corporate schedules quarterly
  • Prepare interim and annual external audit schedules
  • Support internal and external audit activities, as required
  • Link all journal entries with appropriate backup to document number
  • Resolve internal and external customer issues and inquiries in a timely and satisfactory manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Experience in balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement preparation within a large accounting group

Physical Demands

  • Considerable time spent sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Occasional to rare time spent walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • Occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15 lbs
