Sr Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Staff member to guide and train colleagues in our department. This role requires a strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Guides accounting staff in the budgeting process and provides training on the departmental reporting system.
• Maintains and updates the departmental budgeting and reporting system, producing monthly financial statements.
• Acts as a liaison between department directors and financial departments, analyzing income statements, preparing journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Supports the financial audit process and coordinates the annual audit.
• Provides research and education to departmental leadership on financial transactions.
• Reviews and corrects departmental financial statements as needed.
• Assists with special financial projects and ad hoc reports as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) preferred.
• 3 years of related experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in computer software and web-based applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with accounting software and financial systems.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This role is full-time and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
