SR ACCOUNTANT

About the role

The Sr Accountant is a high performing contributor responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves analyzing complex financial information, reconciling accounts, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintains updated and accurate automated or manual filing and data systems that provide a quick reference database of records.
• Fulfills reporting requirements for all ad hoc requests.
• Completes financial close which includes physical inventory, journal entries, and completing month-end reports.
• Prepares plant account reconciliations.
• Compiles, analyzes, calculates cost data, and maintains the standard cost for manufactured products.
• Researches variance issues to determine root causes.
• Verifies that statistical and financial reports are accurate and in compliance.
• Interacts with internal and external auditors as required.
• Prepares monthly capital forecasts.
• Analyzes capital investments and calculates payback and rate of return.
• Completes Annual Operating Plan.
• Completes monthly financial forecast.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 4–6 years of job-related experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• CPA certification preferred.

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
• High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedure.
• Proficient in SAP systems.

Limited travel of 1–3 times annually; able to travel to both plant locations.
