About the role
The individual will be responsible for reconciling account balances, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close adjustments, and compiling financial statements. This role requires excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively across functions, possess excellent communication skills, and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, results-oriented, and adaptable with the ability to take on added responsibilities within the accounting organization as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Execute and review day-to-day accounting and month-end closing activities related to inventory, leases, rebates, and other manual postings.
- Handle accruals, intercompany transactions, and other reporting-related activities to understand variances and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Prepare and assist with inventory management, including costing, capitalizations, and ad hoc SKU management.
- Prepare and submit financial statements, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Work closely with other departments (FP&A, corporate business partners, Treasury, Tax, Credit, AP, plant controllers, HR, etc.) to ensure transactions reflect economic reality.
- Take initiative to identify, plan, and implement key projects to improve quality and increase efficiencies.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors during year-end and other financial statement audits, preparing audit schedules and providing high-level support.
- Lead ad hoc projects as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or month-end close; public accounting background is a plus.
- SAP experience is a plus (or significant ability to quickly learn new systems).
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing organization in Finance or Accounting roles for multinational companies, preferably in the B2B/food industry.
