SPS Technician (Noncertified)

About the role

The SPS Technician at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport is responsible for inspecting, assembling, and evaluating surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and evaluate surgical instruments and instrument sets for proper sterilization and completeness.
• Determine if instruments require repair or replacement.
• Work in a team environment within the Central Sterile Supply department.

Requirements

• Certified Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) preferred.
• General knowledge of Central Sterile Supply department functions preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in sterile processing or related field.
• Skills: Must have strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Salary range: $XX.XX - $XXX.XX per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Weekend rotation and rotating holiday coverage required.
