Job Summary
This position performs intermediate level body repairs under routine supervision. Duties include inspecting damaged equipment, rebuilding and painting trucks, troubleshooting tractor issues, and adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect damaged or wrecked equipment and create cost estimates for repairs
- Rebuild and paint wrecked trucks, hoods, and body parts with a focus on fiberglass and cosmetic repairs
- Demonstrate proficiency in preventative maintenance, part/component replacement, and more complex tractor repairs
- Accurately perform repairs to meet company and manufacturer specifications, complete work orders, and understand SRT and warranty guidelines
- Troubleshoot tractor issues independently and seek assistance when needed
- Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
- Participate in OE repairs training and adhere to safety standards and procedures
- Operate wrecker to move trucks into the shop for repairs and perform post-maintenance diagnostics and testing
Qualifications
- 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in body repair/semi-tractor maintenance and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
- A/C Certification
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in body repair/semi-tractor maintenance and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift/move appliances up to 50 pounds
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to read and understand documents in English
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient active listening skills
- Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer
- Proficient deductive reasoning skills
- Proficient organizational skills
- Proficient problem-solving skills
- Proficient time management skills
Compensation Factors
Starting pay within this range may be affected by skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.

Education & Work Experience
