Summary
This role is responsible for the setup, disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of spreader rolls, ensuring all work meets Voith quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The position requires hands-on experience with large mechanical equipment, proficiency with a wide range of tools, and a team-oriented approach with flexibility to support operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Set up, disassemble, inspect, repair and re-assemble spreader rolls.
- Must have knowledge of repair practices and be able to maintain Voith quality standards in an efficient and safe manner.
- Must be familiar with operation of mechanical assemblies and have knowledge of spreader rolls.
- Must have knowledge of how this equipment is used in the manufacturing operation of paper machines and related equipment.
- Experience in setups and practices used in working on large equipment.
- Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical tools and equipment, including drills, taps, pullers, bearing heaters, presses, hydraulic test units, 25-ton overhead cranes, forklifts, hand trucks, and standard hand tools to support manufacturing and maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude that supports a productive shop environment.
- Perform all job duties safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Voith quality standards.
- Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime and shift schedules as needed.
- Show willingness to learn and adapt by supporting additional operational tasks as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma preferred but not required if the experience level, determined by Voith management, off-sets this requirement.
- Must have knowledge of repair practices and be able to maintain Voith quality standards in an efficient and safe manner.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, including spreader rolls, and how this equipment is utilized within paper machine manufacturing operations and related systems.
- Experience in setups and practices used in working on large equipment.
