Loader Lead

About the role

This position is responsible for leading the loading department, acting as a point of contact for scheduling and ensuring the department adheres to safety standards and follows daily work orders in a timely, safe, and productive manner on 2nd shift at our Acworth, GA location.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily huddles with department regarding schedule and maintenance concerns.
• Confers with Manager, Shipping & Receiving on scheduling concerns.
• Communicates maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Associate.
• Operates a propane sit-down forklift.
• Sorts shipments for destination and groups merchandise to be included with or fulfilled in an order.
• Loads finished materials for transport and unloads raw materials.
• Moves product to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
• Takes product off the production line and stores it in the designated location.
• Transports raw materials to production workstations.
• Inspects forklift to determine the need for repairs and to guarantee safety.
• Verifies piece counts on each pallet and compares to label.
• Handles material of all products.
• Follows manufacturing work orders.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years previous forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Shipping and Receiving.
• Proven leadership skills and abilities.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced manufacturing environment, loading dock, and driveways.
• Will be working in all weather conditions.

Schedule

40 hours per week – 2nd shift, Monday – Friday, 3pm to 11:30pm.
