About the role
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the dis-assembler is responsible for the repair and service of spreader rolls in accordance with company business goals. This role requires interpersonal skills supportive of a collaborative work environment, the ability to work from verbal instructions, comfort working at heights, and good mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
- Read diagrams and blueprints
- Repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
- Push, pull, bend, and squat repeatedly
- Handle and use measuring devices such as measuring tapes, calipers, and micrometers
- Disassemble and clean parts using a variety of hand tools and cleaning solutions
- Operate hand tools, wrenches, wire cutters, screwdrivers, air drills, sanders, and grinders
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices
- Disassemble components based on diagrams and instructions
- Stand and remain on your feet for the majority of the workday
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete and process paperwork
Preferred experience includes hands-on assembly, basic mechanical aptitude, and general problem-solving knowledge. On-the-job training will be provided. Other combinations of experience and education that meet requirements may be substituted.
