SPORTSBOOK SERVER

Responsibilities

• Describe all specials and items on the menu
• Assist other servers to give the best possible service
• Perform necessary sidework
• Handle guest checks according to internal policy
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction
• Maintain proper uniform attire and name tag
• Serve all food and beverages with proper garnishes
• Monitor all tables in your station
• Operate a cash register/POS system, ringing proper amounts and giving correct change; account for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales per established procedures; maintain integrity of all financial controls
• Assist with overall room functions: cleaning and resetting tables, menus, folding napkins, handing out customer comment cards as required
• Perform all duties in a polite, professional, and responsible manner, including immediately alerting management of guests who are intoxicated, unruly, or disruptive, and strictly enforcing the minimum age policy
• Maintain a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines
• All other assigned duties

Requirements

• Read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing in English
• Perform basic math
• Point of Sale, cash/credit handling experience
• Understand and describe college and professional sports and sporting trends; predominant athletes, common sporting language, and teams
• Understand and describe the “Barstool Brand” (social media, apps, podcasts, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and all levels of employees
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke
• Ability to work in an environment where guests have diverse interests grounded in Barstool culture
• Ability to move effectively and efficiently throughout all work areas
• Ability to stand and walk while carrying a serving tray weighing up to 25 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift
• Ability to describe and upsell/suggestive sell specials and menu items, document and comprehend drink and food orders, and communicate effectively to the kitchen and servers
• Ability to engage guests in college and professional sports, sports wagering, and the “Barstool Brand” (social media, apps, podcasts, etc.) — including team rankings, prevalent teams, game schedules, player trades, upcoming drafts, sports trivia, trends, hype, and culture
• Understand and assist guests with Barstool terminology, on-air talent, social media, apps, and podcasts linked to the brand and overall experience
• Engage customers professionally and in a fun manner, inspiring friendly competition between customers and their favorite teams
• May participate in promotional videos or podcasts
• Work harmoniously and cooperatively with “stoolies,” guests, staff, vendors, and other organizations, including Barstool brand representatives and online influencers — including encouraging customer enthusiasm for their sports teams and escalating concerns about customer behavior to a supervisor
• Knowledge of cocktail ingredients, proper mixing and pouring techniques; beer styles, taste profiles, and breweries
• Ability to handle all checks and cash according to standard operating procedures
• Ability to understand and retain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, pricing, service standards, sports and sports betting language and protocols
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment
