Sports + Recreational Designer

About the role

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Sports + Recreational Designer to join our Sports Team in Hartford, CT; Portland, ME; Providence, RI; Boston, MA; or Norwell, MA.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of plans, specifications, and reports for sports facility projects including athletic field layouts, playing surfaces, spectator amenities, and supporting infrastructure
• Develop design calculations, technical memorandums, and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers or technical leadership
• Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard engineering practices and relevant codes, standards, and permitting requirements specific to athletic and recreation facilities
• Monitor project progress and coordinate design efforts to support schedules, budgets, and overall project delivery
• Take responsibility for significant portions of sports facility projects with oversight from senior staff or management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
• Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required
• Experience on construction project sites, interfacing with client and contractor
• Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
• Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
• Proficiency with AutoCAD as well as Microsoft Office required
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Qualifications

Salary Range $90,000 - $110,000 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.

Pay

Salary Range $90,000 - $110,000 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
