Sports Medicine Physician

About the role

MaineHealth Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in South Portland, Maine is seeking a Board and CAQ Certified/Eligible Sports Medicine Physician to join its Orthopedic and Sports Medicine group.

Responsibilities

• Supplement the busy practice of five primary care sports medicine physicians, two sports medicine specialized surgeons, and five sub-specialty surgeons.
• Work in the clinical setting in conjunction with the primary care sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and other care teams within the department.
• Participate in academic activities of the primary care sports medicine division, which include training and teaching of fellows and residents both in clinic and in the didactic setting.
• Provide onsite athletic care to professional, collegiate and high school level athletes.
• Cover local sporting events, work with community sports teams, and participate in office call.

Requirements

• Completed a fellowship in sports medicine.
• Initial training could be in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or emergency medicine.

Qualifications

• Board and CAQ Certification/Eligibility in Sports Medicine.
• MD or DO degree.
• Current Medical License in the State of Maine.
• Experience in sports medicine preferred.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of sports medicine.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
