About the role
MaineHealth Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in South Portland, Maine is seeking a Board and CAQ Certified/Eligible Sports Medicine Physician to join its Orthopedic and Sports Medicine group.
Responsibilities
- Supplement the busy practice of five primary care sports medicine physicians, two sports medicine specialized surgeons, and five sub-specialty surgeons.
- Work in the clinical setting in conjunction with the primary care sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and other care teams within the department.
- Participate in academic activities of the primary care sports medicine division, which include training and teaching of fellows and residents both in clinic and in the didactic setting.
- Provide onsite athletic care to professional, collegiate and high school level athletes.
- Cover local sporting events, work with community sports teams, and participate in office call.
Requirements
- Completed a fellowship in sports medicine.
- Initial training could be in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or emergency medicine.
Qualifications
- Board and CAQ Certification/Eligibility in Sports Medicine.
- MD or DO degree.
- Current Medical License in the State of Maine.
- Experience in sports medicine preferred.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of sports medicine.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
