Sports Medicine Physician

Position Overview

The Sports Medicine Physician provides comprehensive musculoskeletal and sports-related medical care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic orthopedic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests
• Develop and implement treatment plans for sports-related injuries and orthopedic conditions
• Provide patient education regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-activity guidelines
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with program standards
• Ensure compliance with all required certifications, licensure, and credentialing requirements

Qualifications

• Must meet the education requirements outlined for the position
• Must maintain required certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional required credentials
• Must have at least 3 years of full-time clinical experience in Orthopedics or Sports Medicine within the last 5 years
• Must be board-certified in one of the following specialties:
• Emergency Medicine
• Family Practice
• Internal Medicine
• Pediatrics
• Orthopedics
• Preventive Medicine
• Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
• Must have successfully completed a Sports Medicine fellowship of at least 1 year, or hold a Certificate of Added/Additional Qualification in Sports Medicine
• Must maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice
