Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruiting, scheduling, supervising, and evaluations of program staff.
  • Provide outstanding hospitality to all members and guests.
  • Aid in the management of programs to enhance member satisfaction, revenue, and compliance with YMCA standards.
  • Facilitate opportunities for members to increase their involvement, sense of belonging, and ownership of the YMCA.
  • Develop, control, and track departmental budget in accordance with branch and Association guidelines.
  • Research and implement quality programs that meet member satisfaction.
  • Set annual priority objectives to improve service based on staff and customer evaluation/feedback.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all Healthy Lifestyles & Sports staff.
  • Ensure staff certifications are up-to-date and on file.
  • Manage facility and equipment scheduling, maintenance, and coordination with the branch's maintenance department.
  • Execute administrative tasks such as tracking, reports, schedules, equipment, supplies, and payroll.
  • Maintain required certifications and track them in Club Connect.
  • Participate in training sessions and designated meetings.
  • Be knowledgeable about branch emergency procedures and act accordingly during emergencies.
  • Support community and promotional special events as needed.
  • Serve as branch Manager on Duty, as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
  • Adult CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Orientation to Healthy Living at the Y.
  • Foundations of Listen First.
  • Foundations of Member Health & Wellness.
  • Applicable industry certifications.
  • Attend AS400 member management training within 90 days of hire.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with participants of varying experience and skills levels.
  • Foundations of Strength and Conditioning (if applicable).
  • Foundations of Group Exercise (if applicable).
