Sports & Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator (North Brooklyn YMCA)

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and supervising program staff.
• Coordinate daily operations of the Fitness Center and Sports Programs, including scheduling spaces and managing equipment upkeep in collaboration with the maintenance team.
• Plan, implement, and improve Wellness and Sports Programs, including high-quality age-appropriate lessons.
• Provide opportunities to demonstrate learned skills to ensure member satisfaction and alignment with YMCA standards.
• Ensure that all equipment is age-appropriate, safe, and in proper working condition, including conducting monthly equipment safety checks.
• Research and support the development of new and enhanced program offerings based on member needs and feedback.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework preferred.
• Ability to work with participants of varying experience and skill levels.
• Excellent hospitality, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of fitness trends, fitness training, Foundations of Strength and Conditioning, Group Exercise, and Listen First.
• Knowledgeable of the Principles of Member Health & Wellness.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
