Sport Marketing Officer
About the role
East London Sport (ELS) at University of East London (UEL) encompasses all of UEL’s student sport and physical activity offering, ranging from High Performance Scholarships to our Moves+ app. Within ELS we also have the SportsDock gym, the East London Phoenix basketball franchise, the Flete Talent programme and Sport in Your Futures, through which we offer support and opportunities for local communities and young people.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the marketing plan across online and offline channels to a range of audiences including students, staff and public.
- Develop engaging, impactful copy to support promotional activities.
- Maintain and create content for social media channels, with a particular focus on video.
- Create targeted email communications.
- Brief and work closely with internal and external teams including our design team, media agency, photographers and videographers.
- Manage and monitor campaign activity, responding to market needs and adjusting where necessary.
- Work with teams and stakeholders across UEL to develop and maintain an understanding of ELS, SportsDock and UEL offering, and wider understanding of the market.
Requirements
- Experience in marketing role.
- Ability to create engaging content and copy across a variety of online and offline channels.
- Passion for and experience in creating video content for social media.
- Experience using email delivery software and marketing automation, ideally Microsoft Dynamics.
- Excellent written English and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Experience planning and prioritizing work to meet deadlines, whilst pro-actively working with others to achieve team objectives.
- Creative thinker and problem solver, always looks for better ways of doing things.
- Understanding of and interest in sport, health and fitness industry.

Pay
£35,453 to £38,827 per annum inclusive of London Weighting
