About the role
The Sports Coordinator enhances the i9 Sports Experience for players and coaches by building relationships with players, parents, and coaches while ensuring the instructional aspects of the program are delivered. This role involves hands-on involvement with practices and games across all age groups and skill levels, with a focus on empowering volunteer coaches and promoting sportsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Empower volunteer coaches to lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and fun
- Teach and demonstrate core concepts, including Sportsmanship values
- Supervise the overall operation of the designated sport on game day
- Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Sport-specific coaching experience and knowledge (football preferred)
- Highly motivated self-starter; ability to work independently and solve problems
- Awareness and ability to take charge of any situation to ensure player safety
- Positive attitude and strong ability to build professional relationships
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends and some evenings (for the full 7-week season)
- Must love the sport and working with youth
- Past experience playing or coaching is ideal
