About the role
The Sport Clubs Coach II (Women’s Basketball Club) is responsible for coaching the assigned Women’s Basketball club(s), coordinating practices, home and away competitions, and tournaments. The role involves teaching participants ranging from beginners to experienced high school and collegiate athletes, instructing fundamentals and technique, and assisting club leadership with short and long-term goals for the academic year.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead practices, home and away competitions, and tournaments.
- Teach fundamentals and technique to a diverse group of participants, including beginners and experienced athletes.
- Assist club leadership in developing and implementing short and long-term goals for the academic year.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department, division, and university.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience coaching at the youth, high school, junior college, or collegiate club level.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Effectively communicate with a diverse student population.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
- Experience commensurate with coaching at the collegiate club level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Pay
Hourly wage ranges from $20.00 to $30.00, commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience.
Schedule
- Seasonal, part-time position typically from August through May.
- Practices: 2-3 days per week (September through April).
- Tournaments: 3-5 during the season, mainly in Southern California with some out-of-state travel required.
- Typical weekly hours: 8-20 when classes are in session.
