Description
Working within the Sport and Active Lifestyle team, you will lead engaging coaching sessions, support student club leaders, and help create an inclusive, enjoyable, and high-performing environment for all participants. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate basketball coach who enjoys developing players, working with young adults, and contributing to the university sporting experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured, high-quality coaching sessions for Women's Basketball Club members.
- Create an inclusive environment that supports participants of all abilities.
- Work collaboratively with club captains and committee members.
- Act as a positive role model and ambassador for university sport.
- Adhere to the sportCHESTER Coaches Code of Conduct.
- Maintain regular communication with the Sport Development Team.
- Complete required safeguarding training and DBS checks before commencing the role.
- Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the position.
Requirements
Essential
- A minimum Level 2 Basketball Coaching Qualification.
- A Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport certificate.
- Experience working with young adults.
- Strong knowledge of basketball.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding motivational abilities.
- Experience planning and delivering effective coaching sessions.
- The ability to work independently and manage sessions confidently.
Desirable
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience playing or competing in basketball at club level or above.
