Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the women’s basketball program, including practices, competitions, and player development.
  • Develop and execute effective recruiting strategies; ensure compliance with all NCAA recruiting guidelines.
  • Support the academic success, personal growth, and well-being of student-athletes; monitor eligibility and progress.
  • Develop game strategies and training programs to maximize team and individual performance.
  • Manage program operations, including scheduling, travel, equipment, and budget.
  • Cookordinate with campus partners (e.g., strength & conditioning, sports medicine, counseling and psychological services) to support student-athlete performance and wellness.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches; ensure staff compliance with all applicable rules and policies.
  • Ensure full compliance with NCAA, conference, and University policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safe conditions for facilities and equipment; coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Represent the program in campus, conference, and external activities, support fundraising, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee camps and clinics in compliance with NCAA and institutional guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to recruit and develop student-athletes; commitment to compliance, integrity, and fostering an inclusive team environment; ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Certifications: First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
