Essential Functions

  • Assist head coach with practice implementation and training of athletes
  • Travel to away games, two weekly practices and weekends for games
  • Plan and execute effective and productive practices and game plans
  • Promote positive team culture and encourage sportsmanship, discipline, and accountability among club members
  • Maintain effective communication with the Club Sports Manager and other relevant university staff
  • Submit bi-weekly timesheets to comply with university policies

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Has a passion for working with athletes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster team spirit, motivate athletes and conflict resolution skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on the team's training and competition schedule
  • Knows how to balance fun with competitiveness and wants the players to enjoy their experience on the team

Required Qualifications

  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (able to be acquired within first 30 days of employment)
  • CDC Heads Up Concussion Training Certification (able to be acquired within first 30 days of employment)

Work Schedule

  • This position will average 3-6 hrs/week
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on the team's training and competition schedule
  • Able to commit to traveling to away games, 2-3 weekly practices each week in the evenings and weekends for games
  • Ability to coach from September to end of May (no coaching during summer or winter break)
