About the role
This position provides primarily Pre-Award sponsored programs support for the faculty and staff in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
(This position may include some post-award support as well to maintain proper cross training within the department).
Responsibilities
- proposal development
- contract negotiation
- regulatory compliance
- interpret and apply federal, state and local, and university policies and regulations
- attend national professional meetings
- subscribe to electronic federal and state publications
- provide an organizational foundation for quality assurance efforts
- work with Associate Dean for Research to develop best practices for research administration
- coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders
- develop materials and presentations covering research program development
- maintain a thorough knowledge of regulations applicable to sponsored programs administration
- maintain a thorough knowledge of University policies concerning sponsored programs, intellectual properties, and related issues
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Four years of experience in sponsored programs administration or another closely related field
- Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience
Qualifications
- Self starter with professional communication skills
- Efficiency in use of Excel programs
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including mail merge functions
- Excellent phone and personal communications skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to interpret, understand and implement various policies and procedures
- Team oriented in carrying out tasks with co-workers
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must in this position

Pay
$40,000 - $68,500
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
