About the role

This position provides primarily Pre-Award sponsored programs support for the faculty and staff in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).

(This position may include some post-award support as well to maintain proper cross training within the department).

Responsibilities

  • proposal development
  • contract negotiation
  • regulatory compliance
  • interpret and apply federal, state and local, and university policies and regulations
  • attend national professional meetings
  • subscribe to electronic federal and state publications
  • provide an organizational foundation for quality assurance efforts
  • work with Associate Dean for Research to develop best practices for research administration
  • coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders
  • develop materials and presentations covering research program development
  • maintain a thorough knowledge of regulations applicable to sponsored programs administration
  • maintain a thorough knowledge of University policies concerning sponsored programs, intellectual properties, and related issues

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Four years of experience in sponsored programs administration or another closely related field
  • Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience

Qualifications

  • Self starter with professional communication skills
  • Efficiency in use of Excel programs
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including mail merge functions
  • Excellent phone and personal communications skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to interpret, understand and implement various policies and procedures
  • Team oriented in carrying out tasks with co-workers
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must in this position

Pay

$40,000 - $68,500

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
