Job Specific Responsibilities
- Place shims to position spline racks at the specified height, verifying with a micrometer.
- Adjust vernier scales to achieve the correct distance of the upper and lower spline racks to the machine centerline.
- Install spline racks in upper and lower wedges and clamp them securely.
- Position the spline blank between machine centers and adjust the headstock to match the workpiece length.
- Start and cycle the machine to verify operation as specified.
- Inspect trial-run splines for conformance to specifications using micrometers and gauges.
- Adjust the machine to correct any setup errors if splines do not meet specs.
- Set up roll-forming machines using cold-form thread racks to cold-form threads on shafts.
- Follow operational capabilities of the machine and adhere to blueprints or rolling orders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and process improvement objectives.

Requirements
- Proven experience in a Spline Rolling Machine Job Setter role or related manufacturing/rolling machine setup work.
- Basic Knowledge of Splines and Threads (Classifications, Dimensions, and Terminology).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, rolling orders, and mill schedules.
- Proficiency with hand tools, gauges, and micrometers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience in leadership or mentoring roles (preferred).
- Familiarity with modern manufacturing tools, technologies, or methodologies (preferred).
- Relevant certifications or advanced training in metalworking or machine setup (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Physical stamina for production work.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and temperature changes.
- PPE required.
