Support Amcor Healthcare Packaging by operating machines to produce customer orders efficiently and to quality standards.
Schedule
- 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday (3:30pm - 12:00am) and Friday (4:00pm - 12:30am)
Pay
Starting salary between $25.06 and $30.30 per hour, based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional $1.00 per hour shift differential.
Responsibilities
- Meets production schedules by setting up equipment to manufacture product meeting quality requirements at target production rates.
- Documents action by completing set-up sheets and production logs.
- Resolves production problems by altering process to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Maintains specifications by observing operations or responding to job assist requests and making necessary adjustments.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Ensures production efficiency by monitoring and improving run conditions.
- Maintains continuity of machine run by performing material handling duties as necessary.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to set up three out of eight machine groups properly and efficiently while training on the remainder.
- Promotes teamwork and effective working relationships among all contacts by setting positive examples.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Works safely and maintains a safe work environment; attends required training, identifies and reports hazards, wears required PPE, and is accountable for self and co-worker safety.
- Participates in and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge in facilitating Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Requirements
- Good mechanical/technical ability and aptitude.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Post-secondary school in a related field recommended.
- Related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, trustworthiness, capacity and willingness to learn, ability to contribute new ideas, respect for co-workers, and understanding of teamwork.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn and adapt to changing computer programs.
- Able to accurately use various forms of measurement equipment (e.g., caliper, micrometer).
- Ability to comprehend and document SPC and ISO basic components.
- Strong math skills.
