Role Overview

The Speech Therapist in Home Health assesses and evaluates patients with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. They develop and implement treatment plans, perform interventions to improve patient well-being, and monitor progress. The therapist collaborates with healthcare team members, follows state practice laws, and educates patients, families, and caregivers on speech therapy techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy services within legal and professional standards, aligned with the plan of care
• Evaluate patient function through diagnostic tests and assist in creating therapy plans
• Treat patients to enhance communication and expression based on individual conditions
• Record, observe, and report patient responses and condition changes to supervising healthcare professionals
• Educate patients, families, and team members on speech therapy techniques

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation or access to public transit
• Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, compassionate, collaborative, and possess strong assessment and communication skills
