Pay

$38.37 - $58.00 per hour based on previous work experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in Speech Pathology, with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), or equivalent of minimum one-year experience working with adults/children with disorders of neurological origin, including language comprehension, expression, cognition, articulation, voice, fluency, and swallowing
  • Ability to function independently within the department
  • Valid license in Speech Pathology in the state (where applicable) or actively accumulating the supervisory experience required for licensure
  • Registration with the Department of Health or eligible
  • Recommended membership in Speech Language Hearing Association and/or Speech Hearing Association
  • Interest in geriatric rehabilitation

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing therapy to clients in a timely manner per physician’s orders
  • Communicate progress within the agency regarding resident progress
  • Evaluate and treat clients, communicate with families, physicians, and other health team members, and maintain appropriate documentation of services
  • Formulate effective treatment plans per physician request and obtain approval for services from the referring physician
  • Initiate ordered treatments and communicate with physicians regarding client progress
  • Maintain proper documentation according to state, federal, and third-party payor regulations
  • Comply with the Speech Language Pathology Practice Act in the state
  • Perform other duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Clinical Services
