About the Role
Provide speech-language pathology services in a healthcare setting, including patient evaluation, treatment planning, and therapy delivery.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients promptly after referral and document delays clearly if any.
- Develop and obtain approval for treatment plans from physicians.
- Supervise Speech Language Pathologist Assistants and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
- Record evaluations, treatment notes, and progress reports in compliance with regulations.
- Instruct patients’ families and staff in maintenance and caregiver training, assisting with discharge planning.
- Act as a clinical preceptor for trainees and ensure adherence to state practice acts and policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology; Master’s or Doctorate preferred.
- State licensure as a Speech Therapist and ongoing continuing education.
- Proficiency in computer systems like Casamba and Point Click Care.
- Strong communication, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
Additional Requirements
- Physical ability to perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting.
- Work environment with low to moderate noise levels; reasonable accommodations provided if needed.
