Speech Therapist: Clinical Fellowship Supervisor

About the role

As a full-time Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients in their homes. In collaboration with the Case Manager and interdisciplinary care team, you will assess, treat, and support patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. You will also act as an educator and patient advocate, promoting improved communication and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients in their homes.
  • Achieve consistent hospital readmission rates under 10%.
  • Collaborate with the Case Manager and interdisciplinary care team.
  • Assess, treat, and support patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Act as an educator and patient advocate.
  • Supervise and mentor speech-language pathology Clinical Fellows.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs).
  • Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of clinical fellows' progress and clinical competencies.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to clinical fellows.
  • Collaborate with clinical coordinators and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with certification and licensure requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions and case reviews.
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings, seminars, and workshops.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to clinical fellowship supervision and progress evaluations.

Requirements

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).

Current California license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred.

Experience in supervising or mentoring speech-language pathology clinical fellows is preferred.

Strong knowledge of speech therapy principles, practices, and techniques.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Demonstrated organizational and managerial skill.
