Speech Therapist: Clinical Fellowship Supervisor
About the role
As a full-time Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients in their homes. In collaboration with the Case Manager and interdisciplinary care team, you will assess, treat, and support patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. You will also act as an educator and patient advocate, promoting improved communication and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Case Manager and interdisciplinary care team to assess, treat, and support patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Act as an educator and patient advocate, promoting improved communication and quality of life.
- Serve as a Clinical Fellowship Supervisor, overseeing and mentoring speech-language pathology Clinical Fellows as they work toward certification.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to speech-language pathology clinical fellows as they complete their clinical fellowship year.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) for each clinical fellow, outlining goals, objectives, and milestones for their professional development.
- Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of clinical fellows' progress and clinical competencies.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to clinical fellows to enhance their clinical skills and decision-making abilities.
- Collaborate with clinical coordinators and other healthcare professionals to facilitate clinical experiences and learning opportunities for clinical fellows.
- Ensure compliance with certification and licensure requirements for clinical fellows.
- Facilitate discussions and case reviews to promote clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice among clinical fellows.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings, seminars, and workshops to support the professional growth and development of clinical fellows.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to clinical fellowship supervision and progress evaluations.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
- Current California license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring speech-language pathology clinical fellows is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated organizational and managerial skills.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The position requires being in the field visiting patients in their homes.
