Setting: Assisted Living and Independent Living Communities – East Side of Columbus

About the Role

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders while developing individualized treatment plans that improve residents' quality of life and functional independence.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech therapy plans of care.
  • Assess and treat speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Perform dysphagia evaluations and implement appropriate swallowing interventions.
  • Reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and facility staff on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and home exercise programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, evidence-based therapy services.

Qualifications

  • Current State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or eligibility if applicable)
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred but not required

Pay

Per-visit compensation based on years of experience.

Schedule

Part-time, Monday-Friday (Weekends available but not required).
