Specimen Collector- Phlebotomist- 1709

About the role

The Specimen Collector Phlebotomist plays a crucial role at Millennium Health, collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing. This position involves providing excellent care and customer service to both patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient blood, urine, and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens
• Process and package collections for shipping
• Serve as an intermediary between the practice/clinic and the laboratory
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in the ordering portal
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable)
• Drive from/to multiple facilities as needed

Requirements

• Certified phlebotomist with 1+ year experience (or 6+ months specimen collector experience or 1+ years medical field experience)
• 2+ years of customer service experience (or 2+ years medical field experience)
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smartphone and computer
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes
• High School diploma or equivalent
