Responsibilities

  • Provide current, comprehensive product knowledge and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Act as a sales leader to achieve territory targets by delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education, and exceeding goals through in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop and manage account relationships by tailoring interactions to customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance, and partner with the District Manager to develop territory plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products, sustain that passion across the sales cycle, and keep patient impact at the forefront.

Requirements

Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience
  • OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience

Senior Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical/healthcare/scientific experience (non-sales)
  • OR Associate’s degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical/healthcare/scientific experience (non-sales)
  • OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical/healthcare/scientific experience (non-sales)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases
  • Local market knowledge
  • Established relationships in the territory
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
  • Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; Cultivating Internal and External Relationships
