About the role

NuvemRx is seeking an experienced Specialty Pharmacy Manager to lead clinical and operational excellence at our Pennsylvania specialty pharmacy location. In this role, you will serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge and primary clinical authority, overseeing prescription dispensing, patient management, staff supervision, compliance, and quality assurance in a URAC/ACHC-accredited specialty pharmacy environment.

This is a Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:00PM position with no nights, weekends, or major holidays — offering a genuine work-life balance that is rare in pharmacy leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and primary clinical authority; assume full managerial responsibilities in the absence of senior leadership.
  • Review, verify, and execute provider prescriptions for appropriateness, legality, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Resolve prescription discrepancies, clarifications, and clinical issues in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Prepare medications using correct dosages and materials for each individual patient.
  • Listen carefully to patients to interpret their needs and provide information, counseling, and clinical support.
  • Maintain patient profiles and complete records of all medication dispensing activities.
  • Provide direct supervision of pharmacy technicians, including performance input and behavioral coaching.
  • Direct the daily work of pharmacy technicians and ensure tasks are completed to standard.
  • Foster a team culture of patient-first service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage staff in quality improvement activities, education, and operational best practices.
  • Maintain full control over medication inventory — including stocking, labeling, and monitoring daily workflow to prevent expiration or deterioration.
  • Comply with FDA mandates and manufacturer restrictions on specialty drug products, as applicable.
  • Ensure the pharmacy and all staff are compliant with Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as clinic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current HIPAA, HITECH, and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) credentialing.
  • Abside by URAC standards to support efficient product identification and workflow management.
  • Supervise the patient management program and deliver patient management services consistent with URAC accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee clinical and non-clinical operations; document and report quality issues to the Sr. Manager, Pharmacy Practice.
  • Organize the pharmacy efficiently and monitor conditions to ensure standards are maintained throughout daily workflow.
  • Engage and assist with quality-related requirements, projects, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation in support of URAC and ACHC accreditation standards.

What You Bring

  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license (PharmD or RPh) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience; specialty pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage pharmacy operations, staff, and clinical compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of specialty pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards (URAC/ACHC), and compliance requirements.
  • Strong clinical judgment with exceptional attention to detail and patient-first mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with patients, providers, and internal teams.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; accuracy in data entry.

Preferred Experience

  • Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) designation.
  • Hands-on experience with TherigySTM - NuvemRx's preferred therapy management platform for URAC/ACHC accreditation support.
  • Prior exposure to Pioneer Rx pharmacy management software.
  • Prior exposure to HRSA 340B program operations in a specialty pharmacy setting.

Who Thrives In This Role

You take ownership of pharmacy operations end-to-end — from clinical accuracy to staff development — without needing to be told twice.

You are deeply committed to patient safety and find purpose in serving complex, high-need patient populations.

You bring the expertise to navigate compliance confidently and the communication skills to earn trust with patients and clinical partners alike.

You operate with professionalism and calm under pressure, maintaining standards even when the workflow is demanding.

You are excited to grow within a mission-driven organization that is building something meaningful in community health.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Competitive PTO
  • Medical, dental, vision
  • 401(k) with match
  • Life and disability coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program

Compensation

The expected base salary for this role is $150,000–$175,000, commensurate with experience, licensure, and specialty pharmacy management background.

Actual compensation may vary based on candidate qualifications and internal equity.
