Specialty Account Specialist (Immunology) - Reading, PA
About the Role
This field-based role covers the greater Reading, PA area and surrounding regions. As a Specialty Account Specialist, you will provide scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product. You’ll work within GSK guidelines and values, maintain deep therapeutic knowledge of immunology disease states, and develop strategies to generate sales and build strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement expertise to specialist customers.
- Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape and refer customers to appropriate resources (e.g., Payer Relations Managers, HUB, headquarter-approved materials).
- Maintain deep therapeutic knowledge of immunology disease states, including rheumatologic and nephrology conditions, and translate clinical insights into meaningful customer engagements.
- Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Develop and implement customer-specific strategies within accounts (e.g., nurses, mid-levels, business/office managers).
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers, Medical (MSLs), and other GSK functions.
- Effectively manage allocated resources.
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to requests, inquiries, and needs.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to travel domestically, including overnight travel up to 20%.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive (driving is an essential function).
- Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
- Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specialty products using Buy & Bill or specialty pharmacy distribution modes.
- Expertise working with Payer Reimbursement Managers.
- Experience calling on Rheumatologists and other specialty healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated success selling within rheumatology, immunology, or nephrology therapeutic areas.
- Experience working within large integrated health systems and IDNs.

Work Arrangement
This is a field-based role. Most work is conducted in the field across your assigned territory, with regular travel within the territory and occasional travel beyond. Driving is an essential function.
