About the role

The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases 11g, 12c, and 19c on Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms. This role involves ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of database systems across development, testing, and production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases 11g, 12c, and 19c on Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms
  • Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN
  • Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and storage
  • Apply patches and security updates to maintain compliance
  • Manage user access, roles, and privileges
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis
  • Support migration and upgrade projects from on-prem to cloud or version upgrades
  • Work closely with application teams for schema design and performance tuning

Requirements

  • Oracle Database Administration experience
  • Strong experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, and 19c
  • Oracle GoldenGate and performance tuning experience
  • Backup and recovery expertise in RMAN and Oracle Data Pump
  • Performance tuning skills, including AWR reports and optimizer strategies
  • High Availability knowledge, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard configuration and management
  • Security experience, including user management, roles, and privileges, and encryption
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation
  • Linux/Unix administration basics, including patching, upgrades, applying PSU, CPU patches, and version upgrades
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle
  • Familiarity with PL/SQL development
  • Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing tools

Mandatory Skills

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification preferred

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and self-motivated attitude
