Starting Compensation

$17.50 - $18.50 USD per hour

Working Location & Schedule

City of Industry, CA
Sun-Tues, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Qualifications

Education & Experience (Must meet one of the following):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience required, or
  • BA degree in a related mental health field

Note: Relevant experience is defined as working with severely emotionally disturbed (SED) children and/or adults in an inpatient, outpatient, or hospital setting, or any environment where safety and security were the primary focus.

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Active Security Guard Registration with the California BSIS, or the ability and commitment to successfully register within 90 days of employment
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a driving record that meets company eligibility policies

Responsibilities

The Safety Specialist is responsible for providing a high level of customer service through maintaining a safe environment for all clients, visitors, staff, and physicians. This care is provided through direct and indirect physical and verbal interactions with clients, modeling appropriate behaviors for clients, and monitoring daily client activities. Specific duties include:

  • Screening incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventorying all client property
  • Monitoring surveillance equipment
  • Controlling access to the center and answering/directing incoming clients
  • Conducting physical security checks of the center grounds
  • Responding to fires and/or emergencies at the center
  • Maintaining vigilance over the general milieu within the facility to facilitate quality client care, optimum facility operations, and preserve the safety of all therein

About the Program

Facility & Setting: 24/7 walk-in outpatient urgent care

Clinical Services: Rapid mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication support

Length of Stay: Short-term stabilization (up to 24 hours)

Population Served: Serves up to 12 adults (18+) and 6 adolescents (ages 13-17)
