Pay: $26.50 per hour with per diem. 1-year contract, onsite in Salt Lake City, UT.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with external and internal partners to resolve field safety issues and provide technical safety support and pipeline safety installation inspection.
- Inspect regional construction projects and pipe installations, shadow pre-construction activities, and work with contractor management/safety representatives to ensure safe work execution.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with Contractor Safety and Environmental expectations, aligned with the Contractor Safety and Environmental Manual.
- Participate in area safety assessments, inspections, observations, and quality reviews.
- Support construction and contractors in incident investigation requirements, including reporting, investigation, management committee reviews, and corrective action monitoring.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture and support construction personnel in implementing safety plans for projects/tasks.
- Work with Company Safety Advisors, Inspectors, and Superintendent of Construction to identify project risks.
- Monitor compliance of contractor safety plans and project-specific safety plans through on-site audits and documentation.
- Schedule regular audits with contractor personnel and on in-progress construction jobs.
- Mitigate on-site hazards and implement safe work practices in collaboration with Contractor Safety Leads.
- Reinforce safe work practices with team members and ensure adherence to project-specific safety plans, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Advise inspectors on contractor safety plans and company policies.
- Communicate safety objectives clearly to contractors' field staff.
- Verify adequacy and scheduling of project safety meetings.
- Ensure all safety plans and programs are implemented, reviewed, and updated according to regulatory or process/policy/equipment changes.
Qualifications
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- Competent person (excavation) certification from an accredited learning organization.
- First Aid/CPR trained and qualified.
- Five (5) years of relevant Health & Safety work experience OR a degree in safety and three (3) years of relevant Health & Safety work experience.
- Computer literate with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience using defined processes for managing Health & Safety risks.
- Energy industry experience.
Desired Qualifications
- HAZWOPER Certified.
- Pipeline and/or facilities construction experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, and crawl.
- Ascend and descend ladders.
- Able to wear a respirator and obtain a Physician Written Opinion for respirator use.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Work in inclement weather (hot, cold, rain).
- Valid Driver’s License.
