About the Role

This role is accountable for shipment processing (finished goods/non-finished goods), scheduling pick-ups, and creation of shipment documentation. Additionally, the position involves updating internal tracking systems, communicating shipment status to requestors, supporting continuous improvement activities, assisting with physical inventories and cycle count activities, and ensuring compliance with established Sox Controls and Import/Export regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure SAP transactions are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure First Solar Core Values are adhered to and promote teamwork.
  • Process outbound shipment requests and prioritize based on delivery dates.
  • Process offsite warehouse shipment requests and update internal tracking systems.
  • Support the creation of shipping export/import documents.
  • Assist with physical inventories and monthly cycle count activities.
  • Analyze and investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with finish good and WIP inventory activities.
  • Responsible for inventory and data entry reports accuracy.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Serve as a back-up to other key Inventory Control positions.
  • Establish and promote good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Maintain proper communication and foster team building.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • College coursework, certification, or formal training highly desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse (shipping/receiving) experience required.
  • Cycle counting experience is beneficial.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures and practices.
  • Organized, attentive to detail, and functions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer applications (SAP experience a plus).

Pay

Estimated salary range: $18.89 - $26.44 per hour.

Schedule

Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.

Physical Requirements

  • Will climb stairs or steps on a frequent basis.
  • Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Will lift up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Will push or pull up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis.

  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • 20/40 vision in each eye separately and both eyes (with or without correction), ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green, and peripheral vision >70 degrees is required.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to: steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection & respirators) as a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).

This position reports to the Manager of Inventory Control and will not have direct reports. No travel outside the First Solar worksite is required.
